CAKES .......WHERE ARE THEY FROM?????

The word ‘cake’ is of Viking origin, a word that was coined as early as the 13th century and was derived from the word ‘kaka’ which simply means a baked flour confection sweetened with sugar or honey. The terms ‘’bread’’ and ‘’cake’’ became interchangeable as years went by. Cakes were usually baked for special occasions because they were made with the finest and most expensive ingredients available to cook. The wealthier you were, the more likely you might consume cake on a more frequent basis................
